Tempo is a scheduling and communication app for bands and musicians. We use SMS to help band members stay informed about rehearsals, gigs, and band communications.
Tempo sends SMS messages only to users who have explicitly provided their phone number and consented to receive messages. You opt in to receive SMS messages from Tempo in the following ways:
You will never receive SMS messages from Tempo unless you have provided your phone number or responded to an invitation. Providing your phone number is entirely optional — the app works without it.
When users navigate to their profile settings in Tempo and choose to add their phone number, the following disclosure is displayed directly below the phone number input field:

Users may also consent by responding to an SMS invitation sent by a band leader. Users can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to any message or by removing their phone number from their profile in the app.

Message frequency varies based on your band's activity. Typical users receive a few messages per week. You may receive more messages if you are a member of multiple bands or if your bands are actively scheduling events.

You can stop receiving SMS messages from Tempo at any time by:
After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent. You can opt back in at any time by replying START or by re-adding your phone number in the app.
Your phone number and message data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. SMS messages are sent through Twilio, our messaging service provider.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Compatible with all major US carriers.
